WASHINGTON (Feb. 23, 2012)—National Geographic, one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations, has selected Bresser (USA) to develop a complete line of optics products under its National Geographic brand for North America.
Under this multiyear agreement, National Geographic and Bresser (USA) will launch this new line of binoculars, spotting scopes, microscopes, night vision products and other optics at retail stores across North America in fall 2012.
“National Geographic explorers and photographers are in the field every day making scientific discoveries and gathering incredible stories and vibrant images to share with the world,” said Krista Newberry, National Geographic’s senior vice president of licensing, North America. “We are excited to work with Bresser to develop a line of optics products that brings the natural world closer and supports our mission of inspiring people to care about the planet.”
“The Bresser team is passionate about developing quality optics for exploring the environment, both near and distant. We are thrilled to partner with the National Geographic Society and look forward to creating a new line of quality, innovative science and outdoor products for use by outdoor enthusiasts, amateur and professional astronomers, casual observers and researchers,” said Scott Roberts, founder and president of Explore Scientific – Bresser (USA).
National Geographic’s net proceeds from the sale of these products will support vital exploration, conservation, research and education programs.
