WASHINGTON (March 19, 2012)—John Lalor has been appointed vice president of retail and special sales of National Geographic’s Books division, where he will be managing all trade sales activities with sales and distribution partners as well as overseeing direct sales to special markets and developing new accounts. He will report to Hector Sierra, senior vice president and general manager of National Geographic Books.
“We are delighted to have someone like John with such a broad range of sales experience helping us expand our brand into new channels and opportunities,” Sierra said.
Lalor has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the publishing business, most recently as director of sales and custom publishing at Regnery Publishing Inc. in Washington, D.C., for 10 years. Prior to that he held sales management positions at Time Life Inc., John Wiley & Sons and Simon & Schuster.
