What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a technology that can deliver information, including National Geographic press releases, directly to your computer without using your e-mail or requiring you to access Web pages such as National Geographic's Press Room. RSS feeds allow you to create your own customized space on your computer or browser.

To use RSS, you will need a feed reader that can be downloaded from several sites. At the National Geographic Press Room site, you can select the subjects on which you would like to receive press releases. You can tailor your choices to the subjects you prefer or you can choose to receive all press releases.
