WASHINGTON (Feb. 9, 2005)–The National Geographic Travel Collection, focusing on essential travel sportswear, will be shown at the 2005 MAGIC Marketplace from Feb. 14-17 in Las Vegas. This complete line of high-quality, technically advanced, travel-inspired clothing for men, designed by Block Corporation, will be exhibited in booth CA7218 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The five core pieces of the National Geographic Travel Collection, inspired by real-world experience and National Geographic’s heritage in travel and exploration, includes the Ultimate Travel field jacket, sport coat, tech-T, travel shirt and pant. These pieces are wrinkle resistant and use Schoeller’s 3XDRY® technology, a finish that gives the clothing water and stain resistance on the outside, a wicking capability with an antimicrobial finish on the inside and quick-drying properties overall.
The Ultimate Travel field jacket has multiple pockets for electronic and travel gear, concealed inner pockets and zippered security pockets. Designed with the traveler in mind, the Ultimate Travel sport coat has leather trim on the cuffs and pockets to prevent abrasion, self-fabric elbow patches for durability, concealed inner pockets and a detachable key fob in the lower front pocket. The Ultimate Travel pant is designed with bar tacks on all stress points, deep pockets for storage, two side zipper pockets for security and is made with 2-percent Lycra® fabric for comfort and wrinkle resistance. The Ultimate Travel shirt features double button adjustable cuffs, gusseted armholes for easy arm movement, two large chest pockets with box pleats, and a hidden collar button so the shirt can be worn as a button down. The 220-gram, 100-percent cotton Ultimate Travel tech-T has a welt chest pocket and incorporates the same stain resistance, moisture management and quick-drying features of all the Travel Collection garments.
The collection also features versatile and functional men’s lifestyle pieces, including woven and knit shirts, pants, sweaters and jackets in fabrics and colors appropriate for the season. The lifestyle collection translates the specific needs of the traveler and the technologies used in the Travel Collection into garments and fabrications that can be comfortably worn in a variety of environments.
“Our men’s Travel Collection is the natural extension of the National Geographic lifestyle,” says John Dumbacher, senior vice president of licensing for National Geographic. “The five core pieces are designed with the focus on versatility, durability and utility, to address the needs of both active and business travelers who are interested in exploring the world.”
The National Geographic Travel Collection will take an explorer around the globe in style. The garments can withstand many outdoor conditions and easily transition from travel to field to leisure.
