NEW YORK (Aug. 4, 2011)—Greater Clothing Company, National Geographic apparel licensee and New York-based, high-end clothing company, today announces the launch of the National Geographic Apparel 2011 Fall Collection, available at better department stores in North America just in time for winter.
Design inspiration for this lifestyle and performance menswear apparel is drawn from the personal stories and photographs of National Geographic explorers. Since its founding in 1888, the National Geographic Society has inspired people to care about the planet by supporting the work of thousands of explorers, scientists and photographers documenting the world and all that is in it.

The initial collection includes two series that reflect the adventurous spirit of National Geographic:
The Rugged Series is designed for the day-to-day explorer and combines eco-friendly fabrications with functional design for the digital age, suitable for trekking metro and suburban landscapes. Pieces include the Herringbone North Region Explorer Jacket and Vest, Cameraman Utility Jacket and Vest, and the Fisherman Peacoat. The additional pockets, linings, closures and other practical features make everyday adventuring more comfortable.
The Storm Series is a traditional rainwear collection of jackets and coats delivering extraordinary price and fashion value. Fabricated from lightweight, breathable materials and sporting Nat Geo style, these pieces are designed to keep the day-to-day explorer comfortable and dry when life’s treks call for venturing into stormy weather.
